So I own a CS:S zombiemod server.
Today I got a PM from a guy on my Steam Friends list who asked if I would unban him should he be votebanned, I said no (which the reason I think is obvious).
Anyway, I went in the server, with an alter ego, and checked in on what was going on. Due to his own stupidity he revealed I was in the server so I changed my name back and started to talk with the 8-9 players that were on.
Needless to say the majority of the talkers had bad things to say about him.
So I started a custom vote "Should Lawlzz be banned?"
6/9 players said yes. What was I supposed to do? Ignore the vote?
I banned him for just 5 minutes.
So obviously he raged, I tried to tell him it was only 5 minutes but he didn't care. So in a childish fit this ensued:
There was more talk but it was just me saying "It's my server, I can administrate it how I want"
Then he was on about how admin abuse was good etc. In Zombiemod, Admin abuse is NEVER good. I like to keep a fair environment. I banned him permanently after a slew of derogatory terms which I had had enough of.
So, my question, did I do the right thing? I've known him for a while now this, it's made me doubt myself. This community has some really good admins, and good players to boot, so I figured this would be the place to ask.
